The Sonographer Attachment Programme At USA Report : Mayo Clinic: Sonographer Experience =3D Volumes EF=

QLAB Analysis For 3D Volumes (IE 33 Philips)

>> Select Image

Use pointer to select image from thumbnails on the right, double click on image.

>> Start QLAB

Select “QLAB” from left touch screen, select “3DQ Adv” from left touch screen.

>> Adjust planes

4 images appear on screen
Go to upper left image, grab intersection of blue and red lines, center at MV annulus.
Go to upper right image, grab intersection of blue and green lines, center at MV annulus.
Go to upper images and tilt red and green line through apex.
Go to lower left images and tilt green and red line to optimize upper 2 image.
Raise blue line in either of upper images until RV is well visualized in short axis view.
Go to lower left image, point yellow arrow toward middle of ventricular septum.
-          Readjust any of the planes at anytime.
-          Use “slice plane views”, lower right image, to doubled check plane placement.

>> Place End Diastolic Reference Points

Find end diastolic frame.

Click on “ED Ref. Points” in upper left corner of the screen.

“S” will appear, place at septal/MV annulus point in upper left image.

“L” will appear, place at lateral/MV annulus point in upper left image.

“A” will appear, place at anterior/MV annulus point in upper right image.

“I” will appear, place at inferior/MV annulus point in upper right image.

“Ap” will appear, place at apical point in either of the upper images (where apex is best seen). Use lower right image to help place apical point.

>> Edit Image

Tracking can be doubled checked by moving blue plane up and down through ventricle, watch the lower left image (short axis) to check tracking.

If image did not track properly select “Add Ref. Points” from upper left side of screen.

Place points where you think the endocardial border is, select “update image” from upper left side of screen, border will move to these points.

Repeat if necessary, select “Finish Edit” from upper left side of screen when all editing is done.

>> Place End Systolic Reference Points

Find end systolic frame by clicking on numbered boxes at bottom of screen or use arrows on keyboard.

Readjust planes if necessary.

Click on “ES Ref.

Image will track endocardial border.
